Ramadan and Fasting

Just in line with the fasting month (Ramadan) to all the Muslims all around the globe, i wanna wish happy fasting and hoping that that we are given strength to devote ourselves closer to Him.
Fasting is not merely abstain ourselves from eating or drinking but also from all kinds of bad behaviours. Meaning that not juz our body that fasting but all of our senses too.
There are lots of benefits of fasting.

May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and guide us all to the Straight Path. May Allah bless us all during Ramadan, and throughout the year, with His forgiveness, mercy, and peace, and bring us all closer to Him and to each other.

Benefits of fasting

Food is a source of energy to allow the body's physiology functions. Whether we realized or not our body needs energy for every activity that we do or even our body functions like the beating heart digestive system, breathing, thinking, walking and so forth all require energy. And the main source is food.

If no food taken, the body will use stored energy in our body, originated from carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

During fasting, the body will use energy resources from within our own bodies through a process called Autolysis that solve carbohydrate and fat deposits in the body to be a source of energy.

This process applies in the liver where the fat will be converted to a chemical called ketone bodies, which later spread throughout the body via the bloodstream.

Older bodies do not get food, this process more effective and more ketones are produced.

Some of the benefits of fasting:

Detoxification

The process of detoxification is a normal process in the body to get rid of, remove or neutralize toxic materials through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, spleen and skin of the channel.

This process will be faster during fasting as no food intake in the body and the body is transferred to the source of power than body fat stores.

Fat in the human body can donate as much as 9.000 calories per kilogram. For the body to function normally, we need the calories as much as 2.000 to 2.800 for each activity.

Each kilogram of fat significantly contributes energy enough to attempt 3 to 4 days. It’s better to know that saving energy in the form of fat is valid when there are leftovers in the food that we take every day.

Imagine if in a year, during the 11 months, how many pounds of fat that has been stored by our body?

When body fat is used as a power source, the process of entry into force of the release Autolysis causing toxic chemicals that also saved into the blood channel and so removed through the way mentioned above.

There are toxic chemicals are also stored along with fat, which is found through inhalation, will also be eliminated in this Autolysis process. For example DDT, which is excrete through urine, sweat and unclean.

Healing process

During fasting, the use of energy in the body is transferred from the feed channel, the intestines to digest food (due to lack of use) to the more important systems like the immune system and metabolism.

When we're ill, the case commonly accepted is that we have no appetite. This is a reflex physiology, for not allowing a lot of energy to the intestine, but more on the healing process through metabolism and increase the ability of our body’s immunity system.

In fasting, it is very systematic. The process of protein synthesis will be more.
Fasting allows our digestive system to rest can be used to improve other body systems especially the immune system.

The process of rejuvenation / rejuvenate

Low metabolic process, the more effective of protein production, the immune system that is more productive and the increasing of hormones in the body during fasting led to this rejuvenation process onwards cause I live a better term.

Apart from the production of more growth hormone, antiaging hormone (teenage hormone) also increased their productivity during fasting.

Improve mental acuity

Whenever our bodies is free from toxic materials flowing in the bloodstream, the ability to think will become higher. While we are eating, there are lots of energy in the blood and nerves channeled to the digestive system.

If only the energy is not needed in the intestines, it will stream to the brain for the thinking process. This process does not happen overnight.

Initially we will feel dizzy and ill. This is because for the first three days the energy are still be used to excrete toxin apart from cleaning the digestive system.
After this phase, blood that flow to the brain is free from toxic and makes the higher thinking skills. We become more subtle, active and open minded.

Other factors that cause this situation is because during the fasting we are less emotionally dependent on food, less exposed to food or any kinds of stimulants such as caffeine, sugar and cigarettes.

Normally we can experience this the third week of fasting or after Ramadan 20th.
Hopefully this info sharing can boost our spirit and determination to fulfill our obligation.

May Allah accept our fasting, forgive our sins, and guide us all to the Straight Path. May Allah bless us all during Ramadan, and throughout the year, with His forgiveness, mercy, and peace, and bring us all closer to Him and to each other.
